Children's Ministry Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the Children’s Ministry Team at Rez!

In the following application, you will find questions about demographic information, your background in service at Rez and with children in other settings, as well as your strengths. With the goal of safeguarding our children as the utmost priority, will also ask some sensitive questions about your past experiences that will be kept confidential.

At the end, you will be asked for 3 references that can attest to your character. We ask that you let them know that we will be contacting them to ask some brief questions.

Once we have reviewed your application, we will send you links to complete a background check and abuse awareness training, and we will contact your references. Once these steps are completed there will be a brief interview and you will be asked to review and agree to Rez's Child Protection Policy.

Per diocesan requirements, all volunteers must complete additional diocesan safeguarding training every three years as well, and we will offer this training regularly.

Safety trainings and a background check will need to be completed every 3 years. We will also have a yearly all-hands meeting for further training in policies and best practices.

Relationship with God and Christian Practice

Serving with the Children's Ministry

Because we care for children and desire to protect them, please answer the following questions. We understand that the answers to these questions may be private and deeply personal, and we will protect your privacy in every possible context. It is the position of Church of the Resurrection that suspicions or allegations of child abuse or neglect will be reported to relevant state authorities.

(We realize this information is sensitive, and it will be kept entirely confidential, where another child’s safety is not negatively impacted by confidentiality.) If so, please explain. Answering ‘yes’ does not necessarily disqualify one from serving, but we would initiate a confidential discussion with a Rez pastor so we may adequately support you and determine the best placement and timing of your service with young people.
