Lunchtime Course (lunch provided) in 3rd Fl Loft
Read the course syllabus here
Through this five-part course, we will develop practical skills for confronting pervasive faith challenges in workplace settings. The course will begin with foundational principles, establishing a general framework for integrating faith and work. Then we will focus on seeking God’s kingdom through our jobs, learning to be free at work by dying to self, and identifying kingdom work cultures. The course will culminate in class members sharing their own workplace liturgies.

Then we will focus on seeking God’s kingdom through our jobs, learning to be free at work by dying to self, and identifying kingdom work cultures. The course will culminate in class members sharing their own workplace liturgies.
This course will draw on philosophy, economics, organizational and motivational psychology, biblical exegesis, and a range of theological streams. Students should come ready to think critically about their employers, themselves, and their social networks, and be ready to engage in group Bible study and spiritual practices.
People most likely to benefit from this course will be those who work in professional jobs that are hierarchical in nature, feature “up-or-out” and/or financial bonus structures, and/or where power and influence are explicit or implicit features. Examples of such workplaces are law firms, consulting firms, the military, and Capitol Hill (and adjacent) jobs. Lunch and materials will be provided. Work outside the course sessions will be strongly encouraged but not strictly necessary. Cost: recommended donation of $150.
